Panache Announces New Roster Additions: Quintron and Miss Pussycat, Turbo Fruits, Japanese Motors & Growing!

Panache is excited to announce a few new additions to the Panache roster this week. We are thrilled to welcome New Orleans’ own Quintron and Miss Pussycat to the family. Quintron has been making genre-defying noise and “Swamp-Tech” dance music alongside Miss Pussycat’s off-beat puppetry for over fifteen years. The Quintron and Miss Pussycat live show is one of barely controlled electronic chaos, dance beats, small explosions, clothes, and entertaining puppet stories.

A couple of exciting events in the works for this duo. Quintron and Miss Pussycat have been asked to do a major exhibit in the New Orleans Museum of Art’s contemporary wing fromJan 30 thru May 2, 2010. There will be one room which features hundreds of Miss Pussycat’s puppets as well as set pieces from her films and “photos from puppet-land”. A video installation will debut a new episode from the forthcoming season two of puppet soap opera mini-series, TRIXIE AND THE TREE TRUNKS. Another room will be devoted entirely to Quintron’s invention the Drum Buddy. In addition to all this, Quintron will actually be installing himself and his entire recording studio into one gallery and he will report there to work 8 hours a day for 3 months to complete his next album. The final week of the run, he will not leave the museum grounds at all. The duo will also embark on a world tour that begins in the states in late may of 2010.

Lastly, we are happy to be working with Growing. The band has been consistently touring rock clubs over the last several years, exhibited at art venues, and played festivals in the US, Europe, Australia, and soon Japan, with friends and bands such as OOIOO, GANG GANG DANCE, BLACK DICE, SUNN 0))), THRONES, BORIS, ORTHRELM/OCRILIM, TRACY+ THE PLASTICS, and many others. Their music has been used in soundtracks for documentaries, narrative shorts, and even skateboard videos. Their sound is abstract, loud, rhythmic, and highlight. GROWING recently recruited a new member in friend and collaborator Sadie Laska who creates a third dimension of heavily processed electronic samples and voice.
