“King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard are back again…again. The follow-up to 2020’s K.G. is the aptly titled L.W. – and the Australian band have picked up exactly where they left off.”
“King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard are back again…again. The follow-up to 2020’s K.G. is the aptly titled L.W. – and the Australian band have picked up exactly where they left off.”
“King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard have made it official — thier 17th album is titled L.W. and it will be out digitally next week (Feb 26) via Flightless, with physical editions out in the spring. The band are calling it a companion piece to last year’s K.G. and an extension of the musical explorations of the “notes between the notes” first heard on 2017’s Flying Mictrotonal Banana.”
“For many bands, three months is only half of a promotional cycle. But for King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard, the three months that passed since their last album K.G. means they’re due for the follow-up. Today, Melbourne’s hardest-working rock band has announced L.W., out February 26th, and they’ve also shared the new single “Pleura”.”
“Late last year, King Gizzard & the Lizard Wizard shared plans to release their 17th studio album L.W., the direct follow-up to K.G. and third album in the band’s series of “explorations into microtonal tunings.” The record is out on February 26, and today, they’ve shared a new cut of the album, “Pleura.””
“Aussie rockers King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard will release their 17th studio album, L.W., next Friday, February 26. The band previewed the nine-track LP with the video for “Pleura,” which was played live and filmed earlier today in Melbourne.
L.W. serves as a companion to King Giz’s November 2020 studio album, K.G.. Additionally, the LP is the third volume in the group’s exploration of microtonal tunings following 2017’s Flying Microtonal Banana and K.G.. The band previously shared L.W. singles “O.N.E.” and “If Not Now, Then When?”
“According to the band’s album announcement on Thursday, L.W. can be considered a companion piece to the recordings heard on K.G., so fans should be able to hear a sonic connection between the two projects.
For their latest recording, King Gizzard also shared its affiliated video which was impressively performed live, filmed, recorded, edited, and uploaded to YouTube all on February 18th.”
“The endlessly prolific Australian psych-rock cowboys King Gizzard And The Lizard Wizard lost a band member last year, but they haven’t let that slow them down. Late last year, the band released an album called K.G. Since then, they’ve dropped the loose tracks “If Not Now, Then When?” and “O.N.E.” As it turns out, those are the first two songs on another new Lizard Wizard album, and that album will arrive next week.”
“Melbourne-based psych-rock group King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard have just announced the release of their seventeenth album, entitled L.W. The band refers to it as a companion piece to their previous studio album, K.G., and it will be out next Friday (Feb. 26) on Caroline/Flightless. In addition to this announcement, they have shared a video for a song from the album, “Pleura.” The video, which features the band performing live, was directed by frequent King Gizzard collaborator John Angus Stewart of PHC Films. Check it out below, along with the cover art and tracklist for the album. “
“Ty Segall’s band FUZZ have shared a new video of the group performing live at the Los Angeles studio Gold Diggers Sound. Live at Gold Diggers Studio 1 features FUZZ performing a four-song set: “Nothing People,” “Mirror,” “Close Your Eyes,” and “Loose Sutures.”
“Ty Segall’s proto-metal-style power trio Fuzz were supposed to be on tour right now supporting their third album, including two February shows in NYC. Those dates, which had already been postponed from the summer, have been postponed again, but to tide you over they’ve taped a short live set at Gold Diggers Studio 1 in Los Angeles and have shared it with the world.”
“King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard have returned with “O.N.E.”, marking their first new outing of 2021.The kaleidoscopic “O.N.E” is teamed with a video directed and edited by Alex McClaren, and follows the band’s December 2020 single “If Not Now, Then When?”.
“The psychedelic outlaws are widely tipped to be focussing on a new album, the follow up to ‘K.G.’. No word yet on an official release date, but the band have shared a fresh single. Out now, ‘O.N.E.’ is a storming psych monster, one informed by the incredible energy of their live shows.”

“Melbourne-based psych-rock group King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard have just shared a video for their new song “If Not Now, Then When?” The animated video was directed by Dr. D Foothead.”
“King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard just released their most recent album, K.G., a couple weeks ago. (Technically, they released two albums that day, the second being a live album.) Of course, this is King Gizzard we’re talking about so… they are already back with some more music. Today, the furiously prolific psych-rockers have returned with a new single.”
“If Not Now, Then When?” builds upon psychedelic groove instrumentals and attention-grabbing tempo changes that make it a new standout from the band. The animated music video, directed by Dr. D Foothead, opens with a girl at a concert and ends with something larger than itself—a black hole.”
“The song made me consider how individual action or inaction affects the world,” Dr. D Foothead says of the video. “What happens when our repressed pain, darkness and confusion manifest and influence our surroundings and relationships? I wanted to explore the journey of a character who has neglected their inner shadow, and how this energy manifests physically and becomes a force of its own.”
“It’s been less than a month since King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard dropped their latest album, K.G., but the prolific rockers have never been precious about spacing out projects. Today, the Aussie band is back with a new song called “If Not Now, Then When?”.”
“Prolific Australians King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard just released their 16th album K.G. so it should be no surprise that they’re already back with something new. After a drawn-out rock intro, “If Not Now, Then When?” turns out to be another left turn for a band full of them, a lithe track with funky clavinet/electric piano and falsetto vocals.”
“If there’s one thing to be said about King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard, it’s that they never gather dust. Not even three weeks after the release of their latest studio album, K.G., King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard are back with a new single, “If Not Now, Then When?” released on Thursday along with a music video.”
“Following the release of their latest album ‘K.G.’, King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard aren’t slowing down, sharing brand new track ‘If Not Now, Then When?’ accompanied by an animated video.”
“Prolific psych rockers King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard have released yet another new track, dubbed “If Not Now, Then When?”To accompany the jazzy, detuned composition, the band has shared an animated video that is even more mind-bending than the song itself.”
“This song was written pre-COVID, but feels even more potent now,” the band wrote. “Look out your window; the world is on fire.”
“Australia’s busiest band King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard are back with another new single titled “If Not Now, Then When?”.
“If Not Now, Then When?” lands hot on the heels of the group’s 16th album K.G..
The woozy new song is accompanied by an animated video directed by Dr D Foothead.”
“The song made me consider how individual action or inaction affects the world,” the New Zealand-based director explained in a statement. “What happens when our repressed pain, darkness and confusion manifest and influence our surroundings and relationships? I wanted to explore the journey of a character who has neglected their inner shadow, and how this energy manifests physically and becomes a force of its own.”
“The New Zealand-born singer-songwriter’s debut solo album, Distance, captures a lot of the uncertainty that comes with several big life changes: grappling with expectations, finding love, and following your dreams.”
“…Riot grrrl may have never returned, but Bikini Kill did, and when the feminist trailblazers announced they were reuniting to play one-off bicoastal gigs in 2019, the demand was so intense, every show they added sold out within seconds of going on sale…”
“King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard have today announced their return with new album, K.G. To be released on KGLW via Caroline on 20 November, the ten track album is their 16th since forming in 2010 and features previously shared tracks ‘Straws In The Wind’, ‘Honey’ and ‘Some Of Us’.”

“Fuzz is a great name for a power trio, and Ty Segall (drums, vocals), Charles Moothart (guitar, vocals) and Chad Ubovich (bass, vocals) mostly make good on its promise, delivering awesomely heavy psychedelic rock with dexterity and melody…”
