Mac DeMarco’s messy hair, grubby ball cap and gap-toothed grin make him extremely easy to draw as a caricature, so it makes perfect sense that the cheeky songwriter is giving fans a chance to capture his likeness.

We spent Father’s Day with our new dad John Dwyer thanks to the lovely folks at Death by Audio who booked a show featuring Thee Oh Sees, Chicago’s White Mystery, Los Angeles band Mr. Elevator & The Brain Hotel…
Thee Oh Sees are still doing this whole thing better than near anyone else, and Drop is a real treat for all in ways perhaps their other albums haven’t been.
This weekend King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard‘s video for ‘Hot Wax’ is the Clip Of The Week on rage!! Peep out for the video all weekend and come on-a-safari-with-meeeeee
During the four-plus years he’s been performing as White Fence, the prolific songwriter’s approach has largely been the same: He writes hundreds of scuzzy-riffed songs in his Echo Park apartment…
…Mac DeMarco came on stage, the 25,000-foot warehouse was already jammed with eager fans that welcomed the prankster with screams of affection. Amidst beers, laughter and ovations, the eccentric musician delighted the audience…

Spending the past two years releasing three solo albums, a collaborative LP with White Fence, and debuting his brand new band Fuzz, Ty Segall has announced the release of a new standalone LP, Manipulator.
But then there’s Ty Segall. He’s churned out an album every year since he started releasing music, not to mention all those side projects, collaborative albums, EPs, singles, and producing gigs.
Canadian singer-guitarist Mac DeMarco recently invited Rolling Stone to hang out at the Brooklyn apartment where he recorded this year’s excellently laid-back Salad Days.
The ceaseless Ty Segall has somehow made it six months into 2014 with no word of a new release, but never fear: the now L.A.-based fuzz-rock fixture has announced his next LP. Manipulator is out August 26 on Drag City.
By the time August 26 rolls around it’ll have been more than a full year since the release Ty Segall’s last studio album, Sleeper. That’s a pretty brief refractory period for most bands, but in Segall years, that’s like, an eternity, man.
Thee Oh Sees recently performed at The Echoplex for Zig Zags‘ album release show. And Minivan Photography was there to capture the action.
Thee Oh Sees are in town for Northside, playing a free outdoor show in McCarren Park on Saturday (6/14) with The Blind Shake and King Gizzard & the Lizard Wizard. RSVP is still open for that.

With three whole months till the August 26 release of his latest garage-y psych-rock opus, Manipulator, the ever-frenetic Ty Segall is getting restless. Dude does not like downtime. So naturally, he’s crashing the worldwide club circuit.
Ty Segall has announced plans for his new album, ‘Manipulator’. The album will be released by Drag City on August 26 and features 17 songs. It follows last year’s ‘Sleeper’.
Last time we heard from Ty Segall was the release of his band Fuzz’s cover of the Kinks, but now the fuzz-rock savant has announced his next LP entitled Manipulator.
Not only is this the first time White Fence has ventured out of his bedroom to lay down his sweet, 60s-tinged fuzz jams, but he’s also roped in other humans to play on the album too, notably in the form of garage renaissance man Ty Segall…
The terrifyingly prolific King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard have announced the release of two new albums. The Melbourne-based seven-piece have just finished their debut North American tour – funded by the $50,000 they won…
The new touring lineup of Thee Oh Sees made their live debut last month, first as part of the Deserted at the Pams festival in Twentynine Palms CA, then last week (5/29) at Echoplex in Los Angeles.
The lineup includes Nickel Creek, X, Warpaint, The War on Drugs, Jonathan Richman, Mac DeMarco, Operators, Foxygen, Destroyer (solo), Courtney Barnett, Parquet Courts, Angel Olsen, Woods, Mikal Cronin, Julianna Barwick, The Men…

Listening to lines on Mac DeMarco’s latest offering, Salad Days, it’s impossible to not feel reflective. Hearing lyrics such as “Acting like my life’s already over” sung by an incredibly successful 23-year-old, I can’t help being a little introspective.
Panache is very excited to announce the addition of Mac DeMarco to the 4 Knots Festival lineup. He will be joining Panache artists Speedy Ortiz and Juan Wauters on July 12th down at the South Street Seaport in New York. Definitely one of our favorite Ny summer past times.
