arage rocker, Ty Segall is moving on from Emotional Mugger to release another album this year, with GØGGS, a trio featuring he and Fuzz bandmate Charles Moothart, with Ex-Cult’s Chris Shaw fronting the band.
GØGGS is a band made up of Ty Segall, Chris Shaw (of the awesome group Ex-Cult) and Charles Moothart (a Segall collaborator and member of Fuzz).
Ty Segall spent the last several months slapping on a creepy baby mask and promoting his Emotional Mugger solo album, but the Cali rocker is about to get back into band mode. The debut full-length from his GØGGS project arrives in the summer.
“She Got Harder” (out on a 7″ in November) doesn’t read like three dudes serving the base by capitalizing on name recognition. This is music that’s exciting on its own merits, and impressively, it isn’t dwarfed by their collective discography.
Already this year, the ever-prolific Ty Segall has released an EP of his own, formed Broken Bat with members of OFF! and The Melvins, and announced a new LP from his band FUZZ. Now, he’s gone and started another band, teaming with FUZZ’s Charles Moothart and Chris Shaw of Ex-Cult to create GØGGS.
