Mac DeMarco’s new mini-album Another One is out August 7 via Captured Tracks. We’ve already heard the title track and “The Way You’d Love Her”, and now he’s let go of “I’ve Been Waiting For Her”.
The 4th of July just ended, but that’s no reason to not throw another cookout. To help, Mac DeMarco has just shared Some Other Ones, a collection of instrumental recordings he’s billed as his “BBQ soundtrack.” It features songs such as “Little Pepper” and “Onion Man”, and was recorded from July 4-8 in Queens, New York.

Thee Oh Sees’ John Dwyer has a synthesizer-driven side project called Damaged Bug. He’ll release the new album Cold Hot Plumbs on June 1 via his label Castle Face. Dwyer has also released the video for “Jet in Jungle”. Directed by S. Wadsworth Adams, it features a puppet pilot taking, yes, his jet through a jungle.

In support of his new album MCIII, Mikal Cronin is heading out on a tour that includes shows with Father John Misty and Death Cab for Cutie. After his European dates in May and June, he’s booked to travel across North America this fall.

Thee Oh Sees just released Drop last year, and today, they’ve announced their new one. Mutilator Defeated At Last is out May 18 via Castle Face. The band’s lineup on the new album is John Dwyer, Tim Hellman, Nick Murray, Chris Woodhouse, and Brigid Dawson. Woodhouse recorded and mixed the record; it was mastered by John Golden.
Ty Segall has announced plans for a short solo acoustic tour, following a set at Burgerama fest in Santa Ana.
His debut 2011 album was called Mikal Cronin. His excellent follow-up: MCII. He’s back, and naturally, the new one’s called MCIII. It’s out on May 5 via Merge, and it features the track, “Made My Mind Up”.
